About Peter

Welcome to “Laid Off to Paid.” If you are here then we are confident that you are looking for something. You may not know exactly what that is so maybe I can help you.

My name is Peter M. Gibbs and I was born in Brooklyn, NY and spent most of my life in Brooklyn. I am a Certified Recording Engineer graduating from the Center for the Media Arts in NYC. I am also a trumPeter (intentional spelling), songwriter, arranger, musician, a record, and video producer (see YouTube for Naturally 7’s song entitled “Mahalia”), graphic artist, web developer, digital marketer and an Affiliate Marketer, but most importantly, I am a blood bought child of the King of Kings. I’ve done several MLM businesses but decided that Affiliate Marketing was a much better option for me.

I began playing trumpet in P.S. 256. I studied with Mr. Lombardi, Mr. Moore, Roy Stevens, Frank Williams, Sinclair Acey, Dr. Alan Geller, and currently the amazing Wayne Bergeron, who has played on just about every movie soundtrack released in the last 10 years. Over 300+movie soundtracks.

I attended a music industry school called the Institution for New Cinema Artists (“INCA”) in New York City. We didn’t pay to go to this school; we got paid. This was a government program that is now, unfortunately, defunct. I was selected from among a very large number of prospective students to be a part of this ground-breaking program. As an introduction to the music industry, each student was required to do an internship at an established recording/video industry enterprise. The internships were based on the skills that the students exhibited during their tenure in class.

I was selected to interview for an internship at RCA Records in the A&R Department. I interviewed with Robert Wright, VP of A&R, in July of 1982. Upon entering his office I sat down and we talked for a few minutes and then he put on a record and he asked me what I thought of it. He put on Evelyn King’s “Love Come Down” and upon hearing the first few bars I shouted out “It’s a smash!” He gave me the internship on the spot.

From that time on Robert entrusted me with executive level responsibilities which included screening all new artists that submitted material to RCA Records for review and possible signing, editing singles, reviewing budgets, meeting with attorneys and managers when he was not available, participating in promotion and marketing meetings for new and established artists including but not limited to: Hall & Oates, Evelyn King, Diana Ross, Carl Carlton, Fonzi Thornton, Glenn Jones, Alabama, Juice Newton, Rick Springfield, Kenny Rogers, Thelma Houston, The Total Experience and SOLAR Labels, etc.

The most successful project that I worked on at RCA Records was the remixing of Hall & Oates No. 1 hit record “I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do). Robert Wright and I were the mixers and Michael Brauer was the mix engineer. That was then.

This is now. I currently work as a Manager for the largest retailer in the world. My wife and I have a ministry called trumPeter Ministries, we are in the process of building the website. The ministry was launched on October 22, 2017. Our desire is to go full-time in the ministry, as soon as possible. We are trusting the Lord as we built our Affiliate Marketing business. We work with a bevy of wonderful Affiliates that are a part of this community.

I’m just like you, I’ve always wanted to own and operate a full-time, profitable, sustainable business from the comfort of my bedroom. I thought that I could do that by just learning the technicalities of building websites. This has been a goal of mine since 2005. I was pleasantly informed that you don’t need to know any of that in order to be a successful Affiliate Marketer, you just need the knowledge of how the internet actually works and how to monetize your website[s].

If your family, friends, and associates refer to you as Ralph Cramden, from the Honeymooners, then you know how I feel. I’ve failed at every internet business that I attempted, but I was not a failure. You are not a failure either. I was just ignorant concerning the specifics that make success, online, possible.

I have spent thousands of dollars, on a multiplicity of different programs with absolutely no real success. Everything that you needed to learn was always an upsell. Those days are over.

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”

Someone finally taught me how to fish. I am looking for people that need my help. Just as I was looking for someone whose help I needed. I was found. Now, so are you.

If you thought that being successful, online, was difficult, you are correct. Anything that you attempt to accomplish, without the proper knowledge, training, and implementation, will more than likely turn out to be an exercise in frustration. Why not get the knowledge that you need to be successful making the task much more pleasurable, worthwhile and satisfying. This is why you are here. You’ve just found what you didn’t know existed. You may not even have known that this is what you were looking for. If you knew what you were looking for, and you think that you may have found it, then you’re in the right place. Your search may be over. But not just yet.

Are you teachable and coachable?

If not, then your chances of being successful online have just diminished dramatically. The worse type of attitude to have is one were instructions given cannot and are not implemented.

Can you follow instructions?

Good. I didn’t have any of these problems. All of my failures were actually stepping stones leading to a successful, profitable, sustainable business which we are building on a daily basis.

Are you skeptical?

That is actually a good thing. But skepticism without the intention to get all of the information that you need to make an informed decision is a bad thing. Do your homework and make a decision. I’ve also learned that successful people make decisions quickly and change them slowly. If that’s you then take a look at what we saw when we decided to venture into the world of Affiliate Marketing.
